How much does the program cost? What are your payment options?

Our rates are flexible and affordable. You can check out the pricing plans and payment options for the program here.

Where will the program take place?

Launchpad is currently an online program. Members will have classes via Zoom and official communication and announcements will be done on Slack. Once enrolled, a Launchpad member will receive an invite to the Slack “workspace”. Each class will have a channel on the workspace where members can receive announcements and class-related communications. There will be other channels as well that make up the Launchpad community, such as those for general announcements, clubs, interest-specific channels, and so on.

What do I need for the program?

Basically, a laptop and a stable internet connection. You might need some specific software or apps for some classes, but that will be announced beforehand.

Who are your mentors?

We’ve got some wonderful people that we’re excited for you to meet! You can check out who our block mentors are here and who our masterclass mentors are here.

How does the program work?

Launchpad is a 15-month program divided into 4 blocks. You can learn more about each block here

The classes are a mix of topics that we have identified as essential regardless of the industry or field a person wishes to enter, and topics that our members have chosen based on their interests and desired career industries. While there will be activities and required output for the classes — such as homework or projects — our classes won’t be graded. The motivation to be part of a class is purely to learn and eventually produce good output, not to earn grades.

Masterclasses will occur at least once a month, depending on the availability of our masterclass mentors. Members are highly encouraged to attend these sessions, wherein they can meet and possibly take part in coaching and/or mentorship sessions with industry leaders from various fields.

Members have the freedom to design their personal schedule around the classes they’ve chosen, so they also have time to collaborate with others and work on their passion projects and other requirements (for those who are currently enrolled in a school or another program while doing Launchpad). These times are known as self-directed sessions, and they vary depending on the member’s schedule.

Members are also encouraged to join or start clubs based on common interests with others, as well as take part in various community events.

Each member is also paired up with a staff mentor for one-on-one sessions where they get to talk about how their classes and activities are going, what keeps them busy, what projects they’re working on, whatever direction they wish to take, and so on.

I’m currently in senior high/college already OR I have another course/workshop I’m doing right now, but I’m really interested in Launchpad. How many hours do I need to commit to the program?

That would be up to you. Our program (and pricing plans) are designed to be flexible so you can choose the number of classes and activities that you want to be a part of regularly. You can probably put in a minimum of 10 hours a week to increase your skills and knowledge; however, if you want to fully maximize the program (enroll in all the classes, attend all the events, deepen your skillset and knowledge) you need to put in around 20-30 hours a week. This includes attending classes and other events, as well as working on your output (assignments, portfolio, and so on).

I think I have the essential skills necessary. Can I go straight to the 2nd block and work on my portfolio already?

You can BUT in order to ensure that you transition into Launchpad smoothly, you’ll need to do a month of onboarding first. During the onboarding period, you’ll work closely with a peer and mentor as you adjust to the program accordingly so you don’t get left behind.

What if I want to skip the first 2 blocks and enroll in the 3rd block so I can do an internship right now?

Unfortunately, we can’t do that, for two reasons:

One, by the 3rd block, members will already have specific output that they’ve worked on (or are working on) based on the classes they have taken. If you haven’t taken any of those classes, then you probably don’t have the output needed to help you secure an internship, or develop the project you’re working on.

Two, the mentors of Launchpad will be the ones to recommend members for internships, OJTs, and apprenticeships and we will only recommend people that we have mentored and have confidence in. It’s our name and reputation that’s on the line, so we want to be able to say, “I am recommending X for an internship. I’ve been working with her for 3-6 months and can guarantee that she is competent, collaborative, and an overall awesome person.” So give us a chance to get to know you first!

I understand. Will you help me find a job or help me get funding for my start-up after the program though?

Definitely. During the 3rd block we’ll be recommending you for internships or looking for grants that you can apply to while you’re working on your grant proposal, and the like. By the last block, we’ll do resume and cover letter reviews, conduct mock interviews and pitches to help you practice, and connect you with industry practitioners and leaders who can give you helpful tips as you launch your career. We can’t guarantee you’ll get a job offer instantly, but we will do our best to support you until the end of the program. And if you maximize your time at Launchpad — apply all the things you’ve learned, nurture the connections and relationships you have made, build a strong portfolio, and play to your strengths and skills — you’ll have a head start in building a meaningful and sustainable career!

Sounds good! How can I join Launchpad?

Great decision! The first thing you can do is email us to set up a meeting. During this meeting, we can get to know you and see if Launchpad is a good fit for you.

After the meeting, once you decide to join Launchpad, we will send you a link to our sign-up form where you can select and request the classes you will be taking (classes will be based on mentor availability and member votes).

We will then send an email confirmation once you have signed up, along with your invoice and payment details.

Upon payment of your fees, please email us a copy of your proof of payment. After we’ve received proof of payment, an invitation to our Slack workspace will be sent. You can begin getting to know the community through the non-class channels, and checking for announcements on your class channels on Slack.

Congratulations! You are now part of Launchpad.
